Front suspension

2023 Ford F-150 Tremor · 5.0L V8

This decision is still open. 3 options are being compared, nothing has been ordered, and no manufacturer has been committed to. Where one option is marked as currently leaning, that's a preference at this stage — not a decision.

Current preference — no decision made

Part number: 47-323841

Why this option

Chosen for towing stability and daily-driver ride quality rather than maximum travel. Planned setting is near stock Tremor height — roughly 0 to 0.5 inch of additional front height — deliberately avoiding a lift that would change the geometry the truck was engineered around, and keeping the step-in height low enough for kids and grandparents, which is the reason this truck replaced an F-250 in the first place.

Trade-offs

Running near stock height gives up the aggressive stance a bigger lift would deliver. That's the intended trade.

2.5 Factory Series coilover with DSC

Fox

Researching

Why this option

Larger body, external reservoir options, and compression damping adjustment — genuinely more capable over rough ground.

Where it currently stands

Built for desert travel this truck won't use. It adds cost and periodic rebuild service in exchange for capability outside the tow-and-daily use case, and typically pushes ride height further than the near-stock target.

2.5 Vehicle Dynamics coilover

ICON

Researching

Why this option

Comparable to the Fox in construction and adjustability, with a strong reputation for fit and finish.

Where it currently stands

Same reasoning as the Fox — rebuildable race hardware for a truck whose priority is a comfortable loaded ride at close to factory height.
