Deaver vs. stock leaf springs

The broken spring creates a decision point rather than a simple repair. A progressive-rate Deaver pack (L83 or L84, still being narrowed down) would improve the empty-bed ride while maintaining towing capacity for the 6,500-lb Airstream — but it costs more, takes longer to source, and requires picking the right rate.

The alternative is a stock-style replacement: cheap, immediate, and safe, but it keeps the same stiff-empty/soft-loaded compromise the truck already has. Full comparison and current status are in the build list.
